Goat’s milk Lotion? Goat’s milk is healthier for the skin.

goatGoat’s milk products are better for you!  I am constantly encouraged seeing more and more people becoming informed of the subtle dangers in the chemical infested commercial skin care industry.  However there are still a lot of you that are still unaware of the harsh chemicals that are found in these commercial products, and continue to buy what the TV ads are telling you to buy.  The very best thing you can do for your skin, scalp and hair is treating it with the most natural product out there, and that would be goat’s milk.  Yes, you heard me correctly, goat’s milk.

Goat’s milk since biblical times as been referred to as a great moisturizer for the skin and even Cleopatra was known to bath in goat’s milk.  In general goat’s milk has many, many health benefits, but for today I want to tell you what it can do for your skin.  Goat’s milk is commonly used in bath products such as: handmade goats milk soap, shower gels, shampoos, bath soaks, and in body products such as, face creams, foot scrubs and goats milk lotion.

Goat’s milk is very rich in both antioxidant vitamins A and E.  These vitamins help destroy free radicals that are generated in your skin by the pollutants that synthetic chemicals allow to pass through.  Goat’s milk is a buffer; it contains caprylic acid that contributes to keeping your skins PH (alkalinity) closer to the skins normal PH level.  Commercial soaps are not buffered and are so far off from the skins natural PH level that it can take hours for the skin to return to its normal PH level.  If you suffer from dry skin, or even perhaps psoriasis, acne or eczema you may want to consider looking in to goat’s milk products.

seaspongecloseIf you are already using natural goat’s milk soap and other natural skin care products you probably are already much aware that your skin is permeable, and only want what is most natural and safe to put on your body.   You have already taken the steps to be contentious in choosing natural skin care products; my question to you, is have you stopped there?  There are many simple and affordable product switches we can incorporate in to our daily activities that will help contribute to healthier living.   The natural sea sponge is just one of these switches to consider.

Did you know that just about all synthetic sponges have the chemical Triclosan in them, which is classified by the EPA as a pesticide?  Synthetic sponges do not last as long as natural sea sponges, and within a week they begin to fall apart and become infested with mold, mildew and bacteria.  Natural sea sponges are more durable, retain more water and have natural enzymes in them that prohibit mold, mildew and bacteria.

The Pure-N-Simple Soap family has not only switched over to natural sea sponges to do everyday household cleaning , but we are molding these sponges into our natural goat’s milk soap bars as well.  The sea wool sponge is one of the softness and most recommended sponges for bathing.  We have molded a lot of our unscented and Calendula Orange bars with this sponge, creating a very safe and gentle soap sponge.  The sea wool sponge being most recommended for bathing for its softness, and the gentle ingredients in an unscented goat milk soap bar make this a perfect choice for bathing your most precious cargo, that being your children.  No harmful chemicals, ingredients you can pronounce, and a sponge that comes from nature.
If you want a more abrasive sponge for exfoliating dead skin, the Loofa sponge is the perfect natural choice.  This sponge does not come from the sea, and is actually a gourd that you can grow in your garden.

Sensual Seduction of Bath Salts

My best friend Susie’s favorite thing to do on a Sunday night is take a bubble bath. Because she’s not over-the-hill or 63 years old I was immediately stunned by this type of behavior. I mean, baths are great and all but what young, attractive woman in their 20s chooses a tub of hot water over a date, chocolate or Sunday night TV? This was an unsolved mystery that needed to be unraveled, even if it meant drawing a bath myself to see what all the hype was about.

And so, I waited until 6 pm on a Sunday evening, turned on the faucet and let the steamy hot water begin to fill the tub. I remembered to add a scoopful of the homemade bath salts Susie had insisted I use. As I stepped in and laid back the salts fizzled between my toes and the smell of jasmine and honey filled the room. Mmmmmm, I was in heaven. As it turns out, there’s a little more to know when it comes to taking a quality bath – hot water and a bar of soap just doesn’t cut it.

Experience the Softness of Goat Milk Soap

It’s no that I’m trying to sound like a face-wash commercial, but my skin seems to have a mind of its own. No matter what products I’ve tried to reduce blemishes, eliminate oiliness and moisturize at any signs of flakiness, each one has been a long and dirty road that leaves me in the same pit of despair – failure. What is a girl to do when her skin rejects the products designed to clean and nourish it?

To my relief, I discovered that it wasn’t my skin that was being utterly unruly all those years. It was simply having a reaction to the chemicals and fragrances it was constantly being bombarded with. I found the answer to my prayers when I came across goat milk soap. Soft, smooth and all natural, this handmade product left my face feeling refreshed and renewed just after one wash. I wish I had only realized sooner that my skin wasn’t the problem, my soap was.
